Awesome Freebies (awesomefreebies.co.uk) is run by Affiliate Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 05218152) at Linden, Langton Lane, Canterbury, CT4 7AU. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" mean Affiliate Solutions Ltd.

This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies this website uses and why, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your computer or phone when you visit it. They let the site remember things between pages and between visits, such as whether you are logged in, and they can also be used to measure how a site is being used.

Cookies set by us are called "first-party" cookies. Cookies set by another organisation through our site, such as Google Analytics, are "third-party" cookies. Similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels are covered by the same rules; at the moment cookies are the only such technology we use.

How we ask for your consent

Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR we may only place cookies that are not strictly necessary on your device with your consent. This is how we do that:

• The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept optional cookies. "Accept all" and "Reject all" are shown side by side and are equally easy to choose.
• No optional cookie is set until you make a choice. If you ignore or dismiss the banner, we treat that as not consenting.
• You can accept or reject each category of cookie separately under "Manage preferences".
• We store your choice in a cookie for 12 months, then ask you again. If we change the cookies we use, we will also ask again before the change applies to you.
• Using the site is never conditional on accepting optional cookies.

Changing your mind

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it:

• Use the button at the top of this page, or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page, to reopen your preferences.
• Withdrawing consent for analytics deletes the Google Analytics cookies we have set from your device straight away.
• You can also block or delete cookies through your browser's settings. Every browser is different, so see allaboutcookies.org for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, such as logging in, from working.
• To stop Google Analytics on every website you visit, Google offers a browser add-on.

The cookies we use

Strictly necessary cookies (always on)

These cookies are needed for the site to work: they keep you signed in, protect forms against cross-site request forgery and remember the cookie choices you make. They do not track you, and because the site cannot function without them, the law does not require your consent for them. We list them here so you know what they do.

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

With your permission we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to count visits and understand which pages, freebies and competitions are popular, where visitors come from and what kinds of device they use. We only see aggregated reports, and we use them to decide what to improve. Google Analytics is not loaded at all until you accept analytics cookies.

Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Google may process the data it collects on servers outside the UK, including in the United States, under the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not share information about your visit with social media platforms.

Third-party content that does not use cookies

Some files used to display our pages are loaded from other companies' servers: the Jost typeface from Google Fonts and icons from Font Awesome. When your browser fetches those files the provider receives your IP address and basic browser details, as it would for any web request, but they do not set cookies through our site.

Links to other websites

Most freebies and competitions on this site take you to another company's website when you click "Claim" or "Enter". Some of those links are affiliate links that may earn us a small commission, which helps keep the site free. Once you leave our site, the website you land on may set its own cookies, including affiliate-tracking cookies, under its own cookie policy. We have no control over those cookies.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page whenever the cookies we use change, and update the date at the top. Where a change means we need your consent again, the cookie banner will reappear on your next visit.
